Black Sheep Inn is about 10kms from Orange CBD, so it’s extremely quiet, peaceful and scenic. We are surrounded by amazing cellar-doors/vineyards and it’s an easy drive to Hillside Harvest to PYO fruit, Borenore Caves, the Field Days site, Lake Canobolas, Gaanha Bula (Mount Canobolas), golf courses and great restaurants.

Yes, there are plenty of free carspaces onsite. Please note there are no undercover parking.

Once you turn off The Escort Way highway, our Heifer Station Lane is bitumen, and our driveways and carparks is gravel. There are no major dips or bumps.

Yes, as these are original/traditional shearing shed designs, our buildings are raised high off the ground. 

Please note there are 9 steps to get onto the deck of the Black Sheep Inn Woolshed, with a step into the building from the decks. Once inside, the floor is all one level. There are 5 bathrooms, each with a walk-in shower.

At Whispering Moon Cottage, there are 4 steps to get onto the deck, and one step into the building. Once inside, the floor is all one level. There are two bathrooms – one with a walk-in shower, and one featuring a shower over a bathtub.

Yes, children are very welcome! We ask that children are well-supervised by an adult at all times, especially around the fireplace. The buildings are raised high off the ground, and there are unfenced dams, and cattle, in the paddocks. It would also be greatly appreciated if children didn’t have food in any bedrooms please.

No, pets are not suitable as Black Sheep Inn is a working farm with livestock and open dams. 

We have a two-night minimum policy. For public holidays and long weekends, we have a three-night minimum policy.

No, smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the buildings. Outside only please.

  • Kitchen with kettle, electric stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge, Miele dishwasher, and with main essentials supplied (e.g milk, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, clingwrap, dishwashing detergent, dishcloths, paper towels)
  • For your convenience, we provide full-cream milk, tea, and plunger coffee.

At the moment, we do not host weddings or functions. 

To confirm your booking, a deposit of 50% is required (the remaining amount is then due two weeks prior to arrival, which can be split amongst your group if you wish). If your booking is less than 2 weeks away, full payment is required upfront.

Our preferred method of payment is via bank transfer, details of which we will supply to you upon enquiry.

Payment via VISA, Mastercard or AMEX is also possible, but is subject to a 2.3% surcharge. Please advise us if this is your preference, and you can provide your details over the phone or email.

If a booking is cancelled:

  • 31 days or more prior to commencement of booking, your deposit, minus a $100 admin fee, will be refunded.
  • Between 30-14 days prior to commencement of booking, no refund will be given on the 50% deposit.
  • Within 14 days prior to commencement of booking, or after commencement of booking, no refund will be given on the full tariff.

We can provide breakfast provisions at an extra charge per person per day. Please discuss your requirements with us.
